Bin Laden's Mansion in Florida

Once owned by Khalil bin Laden, one of Osama bin Laden’s 54 siblings, a wealthy businessman, purchased the property in 1980 for $1.6 million for his family but fled their vacation spot under police escort shortly after 9/11, fearing they may be targeted in relation to the terrorist attacks. The home has sat empty ever since. Located only 20 miles west of Orlando, the property features 1,200 feet of private shoreline, 3 separate 1 acre lots, 4 car detached garage, a 3,000 square foot carriage house and horse stables. In February 2006, at the peak of Florida’s housing market, Khalil sold the property for $4 million – to a businessman who later went bankrupt. Later the Estate was foreclosed on and started to deteriorate due to lack of maintenance. Most recently the home was named by Forbes as one of the “creepiest abandoned mansions” in the US.
