January 11th, 17:26 Heavy snowfall resulted in parts of Austria to the chaos on the roads and power failure. As reported by news agency «APA», 15 000 tourists and residents in several snow-swept mountain ski resort areas in the west of the country were cut off from the world. In some places, almost 90cm of snow fell.
As a result of heavy snow, fallen trees and a high risk of avalanches were blocked roads across the country and disrupted rail service.
