Floating Wooden Exbury Egg House

Floating Wooden Exbury Egg House

Exbury Egg, installed on the shore of the Beaulieu River, UK, is a self-sufficient floating room that floats to the rhythm of tides. Conceived by artist Stephen Turner, and created with the help of Perring Architecture and Design, and SPUD design studio, it has been built with the purpose of becoming a laboratory for studying the life of a tidal creek, a collecting and collating centre with integral storage & display areas. The egg uses solar technology for the electricity.
