WaterCar is hoping to simplify, or add more fun, into people’s lives with its Panther amphibious car that performs on the water, road, and sand. The company is claiming that its Panther is the world’s fastest amphibious car, powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine sourced from Honda with around 250 hp. According to WaterCar, the Panther is the result of 14 years of hard work, 27 patents, and countless labor hours.
The styling of the Panther will quickly remind enthusiasts of a Jeep Wrangler but is built on a chromoly chassis that has been “engineered to integrate into the composite hull using cutting edge epoxy adhesion technology,” according to WaterCar. The Panther weighs in at under 3,000 pounds and can reach over 80 mph on land and 44 mph on water, where the wheels actually retract.
