An Oregon Stop & Go Mini Mart proprietor named Kent Couch and Iraqi athlete Fareed Lafta lifted skywards on tandem lawn chairs strapped to a clutch of 350, 5-foot diameter helium-filled balloons on July 14, 2012. The two were attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest two-man cluster balloon flight but had to curtail their trip when adverse weather forced them to land. After the two scurried from the lawn chairs, the balloons lifted up again into the skies and floated away.
